I've been dealing with the weirdest glitch ever. This computer will suddenly drop connection to the USB mouse and keyboard, to which is connected via a usb-KVM (Startech SV411KUSB). The other 3 computers next to it do not have that issue. Have tried installing Windows 7 and XP, and both do the same, suddenly ti will say that the USB device cannot be started and drop them. Have tried upgrading the chipset drivers, enabling and disabling legacy USB support on the BIOS, prevent windows from powering down the USB to save power. Weirdest thing is there is another station with a setup exactly like it, but it does not present that glitch. So i figured I would switch the KVMs on those two stations, but the problem only persisted on the same one, so ruled out KVM issue. The only other difference was that on the 'good' station they use admin rights for everything; so I granted admin rights to the 'bad' desktop, and although that has slowed the issue a bit, it's still doing it. Then I figured it could be the motherboard; so replaced the motherboard with a brand new one, same model and all, Intel DH55PJ with an iCore5. It also has an ATI Radeon HD 5450. Please help. Thanks! I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. References community.spiceworks.com/topic/152165-desktop-loses-mouse-keyb-on-usb-kvmvideo animation
